"amavisd" => array("amavisd-new", "amavisd", "no", DAEMON_LANG_AMAVIS, "yes", null), process name - the daemon class will handle these differently. A few daemons are not really "running" per se, but are part of the kernel, - core daemon (no configuration, but still important) - a short title (uses language templates) No it still doesn't work when I take that line out. You wouldn't think any of this would be a real issue without trying to access your logs in the Webconfig, but it doesn't hurt to check things and try things in the debugging process. The howto also has you create a symbolic link in the home directory for the ventrilo user from /var/log/ventrilo and maybe this is wigging the webconfig? Maybe for now try renaming the symlink if the ventrilo server is also trying to access it? Just reaching. The permission for /var/log (and most of the subdirectories under it) should be root:root. Perhaps you made a typo when you did that part.just reaching. I don't know if you wanna make sure the permissions were untouched for /var/log/ and even some of the subdirectories for other applications under /var/log/ because the howto has you use chown -R and that covers everything within the directory structure. The Webconfig accesses the /var/log directory. Part of creating the log was modifying the permissions associated with the log directory. I did notice the howto has you restarting the webconfig once after creating a log for your service. Jan 23 04:02:02 smith2 syslogd 1.4.1: restart.Īll the permissions on the file are fine.
